Cook County Sheriff’s Police to Conduct Traffic Safety Checkpoint in Crestwood (Crestwood, IL) – Cook County Sheriff’s Police will conduct a traffic safety checkpoint in Crestwood later this month as part of ongoing efforts to promote roadway safety and enforce traffic laws.
Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced that the checkpoint will operate from 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18, through 1 a.m. Friday, June 19, near the intersection of Cal Sag Road and South Cicero Avenue.
During the checkpoint, officers will verify that motorists are complying with Illinois driver’s license and vehicle registration requirements. Police will also check for compliance with seat belt laws, child safety restraint requirements and signs of impaired driving.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the purpose of the checkpoint is to improve roadway safety by encouraging responsible driving behavior and increasing awareness of traffic safety laws.
Officials said the operation is part of routine enforcement efforts designed to increase seat belt usage, promote safe travel and reduce crashes throughout Cook County.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office regularly conducts traffic safety checkpoints and enforcement campaigns in communities across the county as part of broader public safety initiatives.
