DuPage County Sheriff’s Office Partners with DCFS to Enhance Child Protection Efforts (DuPage County, IL) – The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office has announced a new initiative aimed at strengthening child protection efforts through closer collaboration with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
As part of the partnership, a DuPage County deputy sheriff will be assigned to work directly with DCFS as a dedicated liaison. The deputy will assist investigators on cases requiring law enforcement involvement, support complex child welfare situations, and help improve coordination and response times between agencies.
Officials said the initiative is intended to enhance information sharing and ensure that children in vulnerable circumstances receive timely protection and care. By embedding a deputy within DCFS operations, both agencies aim to provide a more unified and effective response to critical incidents.
“This is an important step forward in protecting the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Sheriff James Mendrick. “By working side-by-side with DCFS, we are building a stronger, more coordinated approach to child safety.”
The collaboration reflects a broader effort to improve interagency cooperation and deliver more comprehensive services to families across DuPage County.
