IL Freedom Caucus Statement on IGOLD rally in Springfield (Springfield, IL) – Members of the Illinois Freedom Caucus today attended the annual Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day (IGOLD) rally in Springfield to show their strong support for the Second Amendment.
The annual event draws Second Amendment supporters from all across the state. The members of the Illinois Freedom Caucus are issuing the following statement:
“Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Democrats continue to attack the rights of honest gun owners with an endless parade of excessive laws and restrictions. The latest example is the weapons ban legislation that is currently being challenged in federal court. It is going to take some time for the legal process to unfold, but we remain confident that this onerous law will be overturned, and justice will prevail.
Our message to the millions of honest gun owners in Illinois is to stand firm in your convictions and to let your voice be heard. We must not back down in our fight to preserve our Constitutional rights. We as legislators will continue to vote against bills aimed at undermining the Second Amendment and we urge the honest gun owners of this state to stay engaged and involved because the future of our republic depends on our ability to preserve the rights and freedoms granted in our Constitution.”
