Ja’mal Green to Introduce New Anti-Violence Campaign at Site of Mass Shooting Today (Chicago, IL) – Former mayoral candidate Ja’Mal Green will debut a new anti-violence initiative, “One City, One Heart,” this afternoon at the site of a recent mass shooting at 42nd Street and Cottage Grove Avenue.

The event begins at 2:30 p.m. and will feature free grocery giveaways provided by The Kindness Campaign, hot meals from Chicago’s Chicken and Waffles, and community support from Illinois House Majority Leader Kam Buckner.

Green said the campaign will be brought to neighborhoods across Chicago to promote unity and healing in communities affected by violence. Earlier this month, he offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter.

“One City, One Heart” aims to combine resources, outreach, and symbolic gatherings to address gun violence while building stronger connections between residents.
