Harvest Worship Center to Deliver 1,500 Meals During Annual LoveDay Celebration (Chicago, IL) – Harvest Worship Center Ministries will mark Valentine’s Day this year by providing more than 1,500 hot meals to seniors and residents across the community as part of its annual LoveDay celebration.

The event, led by Pastor Cornelius Parks, is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Bethel New Life Senior Center, 1140 N. Lamon Ave. Volunteers from the church and the community will gather to prepare and distribute meals, which will be delivered throughout the surrounding neighborhoods.

LoveDay has become a yearly tradition for Harvest Worship Center, focusing on service and outreach during a time often associated with celebration. Church leaders say the effort is intended to show compassion and provide tangible support to seniors and families who may be experiencing food insecurity.

“This day is about sharing love in a practical way,” Parks said. “For many of our seniors and neighbors, a hot meal and a friendly visit can make a real difference.”

The event is supported by DoorDash, which is sponsoring LoveDay for the fifth consecutive year through its community credits program. DoorDash is contributing $5,000 in credits to help cover meal preparation and delivery costs, allowing volunteers to reach residents who may be unable to attend in person.

Organizers expect the celebration to include scenes of volunteers packing meals, coordinating deliveries and community members coming together to enjoy a warm meal on Valentine’s Day. Community partners will also assist with logistics and outreach.

Harvest Worship Center officials said the annual event reflects the church’s broader mission to serve Chicago’s neighborhoods and support vulnerable populations, particularly seniors.

“This is about meeting people where they are,” Parks said. “LoveDay is one small way we can remind our community that they are seen, valued and cared for.”
