Chicago Man Charged in Fatal Ford Heights Double Shooting (Chicago, IL) – A Chicago man has been charged with murder in connection with a July shooting that left two people dead in Ford Heights, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced.
Sheriff’s police responded about 3:15 a.m. July 5 to a report of a shooting with multiple victims in the 1400 block of Regent Lane. Officers found Michael Agee, 30, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Nearby, 31-year-old Raqwan Dixon was also found shot.
Both men were transported to Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Dyer, Indiana, where they were later pronounced dead, authorities said.
A third gunshot victim, a 31-year-old man, was also located at the scene. He declined treatment from paramedics and instead traveled on his own to a hospital for medical care.
Following an investigation, Cook County Sheriff’s Police detectives identified the alleged shooter as Detrion Anderson, 31, of Chicago. A warrant was issued for Anderson’s arrest on Nov. 26.
Chicago police arrested Anderson on Jan. 1 and turned him over to sheriff’s detectives. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved a murder charge later that day.
Anderson appeared in court Jan. 2 at the Markham Courthouse, where he was ordered detained at the Cook County Jail pending further proceedings.
Authorities emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
