Federal Jury Convicts Former South Suburban Police Officer of Corruption (Chicago, IL) – A former south suburban police officer has been convicted in federal court of corruption charges stemming from a scheme to steal cash and drugs from motorists during traffic stops.

A jury found Antoine Larry, 49, of Bolingbrook, guilty on all four counts against him following a two-week trial in U.S. District Court in Chicago. Larry, who served as a patrol officer with the Phoenix Police Department, was convicted of conspiracy, extortion and attempted extortion.

Federal prosecutors said Larry conspired with another officer to solicit cash and drugs from occupants of vehicles during traffic stops in exchange for reducing or dropping charges, declining to pursue enforcement action, or allowing vehicles to avoid impoundment. Authorities said the officers then falsified police reports to conceal their conduct.

The scheme began as early as 2020 and continued through 2022, according to prosecutors.

The extortion and attempted extortion convictions carry potential sentences of up to 20 years in federal prison, while the conspiracy charge is punishable by up to five years. U.S. District Judge John F. Kness scheduled Larry’s sentencing for April 22, 2026.

Larry’s co-conspirator, Jarrett Snowden of Lansing, pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge prior to trial and admitted his role in the scheme. Snowden is awaiting sentencing.

The convictions were announced by U.S. Attorney Andrew S. Boutros of the Northern District of Illinois and FBI Chicago Special Agent in Charge Douglas S. DePodesta. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alexandra Morgan, Ramon Villalpando and Prashant Kolluri.
