Rep. Niemerg Files Resolution to Impeach Gov. Pritzker Over ‘Inflammatory’ Remarks (Dieterich, IL) – State Rep. Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) on Monday introduced a resolution seeking to impeach Gov. JB Pritzker, accusing the Democratic governor of making inflammatory statements that Niemerg argues are helping to incite political violence.

House Resolution 467, filed by Niemerg, cites several speeches in which Pritzker compared Republicans to Nazis, encouraged aggressive tactics against political opponents, and called for disruption and protests. Niemerg said the remarks amount to a “dereliction of his constitutional duties.”

“Governor Pritzker’s remarks are providing legitimacy to radicals who are committing these heinous crimes against people like Charlie Kirk,” Niemerg said in a statement, referencing the recent killing of the conservative commentator. “If it were one isolated incident – it would be one thing, but there is a pattern here. His remarks are undignified and are disqualifying for the office of governor. It is time to hold Governor Pritzker accountable for his actions.”

The resolution highlights three instances: Pritzker’s February State of the State address, in which he likened Republican tactics to those of Nazi Germany; a March speech at the Human Rights Campaign Los Angeles Dinner, where he said “bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only, a punch in the face”; and an April event in New Hampshire, where he called for “mass protests” and said Republicans “cannot know a moment of peace.”

Niemerg said those comments demonstrate a repeated pattern of rhetoric that encourages hostility rather than civil discourse.

The resolution has been introduced and awaits assignment to a House committee. If taken up, it would mark the beginning of a lengthy impeachment process.
