Women for Juliana Hosts Fireside Chat on Motherhood, Leadership, and Policy (Chicago, IL) – U.S. Senate candidate Juliana Stratton connected with Chicago mothers and community members Monday evening during an intimate “Moms Fireside Chat,” hosted by Women for Juliana and moderated by mom and content creator Jenny LeFlore.

The event, held at Little Black Pearl in Chicago’s Kenwood neighborhood, drew dozens of attendees for a candid conversation about motherhood, leadership, and the importance of women’s voices in politics.

Stratton, who currently serves as Illinois’ lieutenant governor, spoke about her experience balancing leadership and family life, while outlining her platform to strengthen policies that support working mothers across Illinois.

“Politics is a part of our everyday lives, whether we intentionally decided to get engaged or not,” Stratton said. “When we come together and recognize the power of coalition and community, we will get through this together. This room is powerful. This is where the work gets done.”

Moderator Jenny LeFlore, known for her advocacy for moms and her digital community Mama Fresh, encouraged attendees to engage with policy discussions confidently.
“That’s why this policy is so important, and that’s why it’s important that we have a safe place to discuss it,” LeFlore said. “When you’re out in circles and life turns to politics, we shouldn’t have to shy away. You can stand firm, be in conversation, and speak confidently about who you support.”

The Women for Juliana network aims to build a coalition of women across Illinois who are mobilizing in support of Stratton’s Senate campaign. Through community-focused events like the fireside chat, the group seeks to foster dialogue around issues such as economic opportunity, family policy, and women’s representation in government.

Stratton’s campaign has emphasized outreach to diverse audiences through collaborations with creators and influencers like LeFlore, ensuring that Illinois voters can connect with her message—whether in community spaces or online
