NO KINGS Protest Draws Hundreds to McCarty Park in Show of Activism and Unity (Aurora, IL) – More than 900 residents and community leaders gathered at McCarty Park on Saturday for the NO KINGS protest, a rally calling for civic engagement, government accountability, and social justice. Organized by Indivisible Kendall County Illinois, the event drew one of the largest activist turnouts the area has seen this year.

The peaceful protest featured speeches from local elected officials, including Aurora Mayor John Laesch and State Representative Barbara Hernandez, who urged residents to stay engaged in the democratic process.

The demonstration highlighted a broad range of community concerns, including economic inequality, education access, voter rights, and government transparency. Organizers said the message behind the NO KINGS theme was a rejection of political corruption and unchecked power.

Attendees of all ages held handmade signs, chanted slogans, and marched around the park, emphasizing solidarity across political and social lines. Community organizations also hosted informational booths to connect residents with advocacy resources and volunteer opportunities.

Organizers say the turnout exceeded expectations and hope the protest will inspire continued civic participation leading into upcoming local and national elections.

“This is just the beginning,” one organizer said. “We’re building a movement, not a moment.”

The event’s media coverage was made possible through community support. Organizers expressed their gratitude to local journalists and volunteers who helped amplify the message.
